About Us

Lighthouse Design Build

At Lighthouse Design Build, we believe the renovation journey should feel just as good as the final result. We're a family-rooted, water-loving team focused on guiding homeowners through thoughtful design and high-quality construction—always with clarity, craftsmanship, and respect.

Our Story

Building Something Meaningful

Kristin Stelhart - CEO of Lighthouse Design Build

The Vision

Lighthouse Design Build was born from a desire to create a better, more client-centered renovation experience while continuing a longstanding family legacy in construction. When Jason's father prepared to retire, Jason and his wife, Kristin, saw an opportunity to build something meaningful—something that reflected their values, their love of the water, and their commitment to homeowners.

The name Lighthouse is deeply personal. To our family, lighthouses represent home, safety, and direction. They guide you through fog, warn of danger, and lead you toward calmer waters. In the same way, our mission is to guide clients through the renovation process with confidence, transparency, and steady support from start to finish.

Jason's approach to design and construction is shaped by early jobsite experience, mentorship from his father, and formal education in architecture and finance. He spent five years running the family business before launching Lighthouse with Kristin, who provides high-level oversight of mission, culture, and long-term direction.

Jason continues to lean on his father for design insights and problem-solving, carrying forward the craftsmanship, integrity, and practical wisdom that defined his family's work for decades.

The Legacy

A successful renovation isn't just about beautiful results; it's about how you feel along the way. We want clients to feel excited, supported, and confident as they watch their home transform.

Our best partnerships happen with homeowners who value guidance, trust the process, and appreciate a collaborative approach. When we work together, the result is a renovation experience that's not only smoother—but truly enjoyable.

How We Work

Our Philosophy

Design with purpose. Build with precision. Communicate constantly.

Renovation is a major investment, and we approach every project as stewards of your budget and vision. We think critically about what makes sense—whether that means updating what exists, reconfiguring layouts, or adding new space. Every design decision is intentional and rooted in long-term usability.

Our Vision

In the coming years, we aim to grow into a dedicated office and shop space, refine our systems, hire additional project managers and lead carpenters, and eventually expand into a full-service interior design studio.

Success isn't measured by volume—it's measured by accuracy, communication, client satisfaction, and the ability for our team and families to thrive.

Why Lighthouse

What sets Lighthouse apart is our approach. We don't simply build what exists on paper—we think deeply about how your home should function, flow, and support your life.

We question assumptions, explore alternatives, and design with intention.

With strong family roots, in-house craftsmanship, and a mission to create a renovation experience that feels truly supportive, Lighthouse Design Build is here to guide you home.
